Sanitary Pump Material
The materials used and surface finish of the sanitary pumps are extremely important both for physical properties and for the prevention of bacterial breeding grounds. Hilge sanitary pumps are only manufactured from FDA-conform materials.
The use of AISI 316L (1.4404/1.4435) cold-rolled and forged stainless steel ensures Hilge hygienic pumps meet strict hygienic design criteria. AIS 316L stanless steel ensures a homogeneous pore-free surface. When required, fully drainable models are also available.
Single and double mechanical shaft seals are available, depending on the pump application and pumped media. This ensures trouble free operation.
– Single mechanical shaft seals: inboard seals mounted in an optimum position in the product flow to ensure lubrication, cooling as well as CIP and SIP capability.
– Double mechanical shaft seal: Can be supplied as ‘tandem’ or ‘back to back’ versions with flushing water connection.
For single mechanical shaft, standard materials such as carbon/stainless steel and EPDM are used. Other materials are available on request.
Connections: A variety of connections are available, this includes sterile threaded fittings and flanges. Other fittings include SMS, RJT, DIN, ISO and TRI-Clover.
